What is an annotated bibliography?

Answer

An annotated bibliography is an assignment type that encourages students to engage with their research. Annotations, which are notes about what the source is and how it is useful to your research, are added under each cited source.

Annotations will vary in content and length based on your professor's instructions, but typical annotations are about two-to-three sentences long.
