If you have an iPhone or iPad:

1. Find the “Notes” app and open it on your iPhone. This app is pre-installed on your device and the icon looks like the image below:

2. Tap on the new note icon, which is located on the bottom right-hand corner of your screen:

3. Tap on the camera icon and select “Scan Documents” from the menu that appears.

     a. If the camera icon does not appear, select the paperclip icon, then select “Scan Documents.”

4. Using your phone or iPad’s camera, scan your document.

5. If the quality of the image is good, tap “Keep Scan”

6. You can add additional scans to the document or tap “Save” when you're done.

7. Next, tap on the send icon, which is located in the top right-hand corner of your screen:

8. Email yourself a copy of the scan.

9. Open your email account on your computer and save a copy of the scan to your computer.

Your document is now available to upload into Canvas. Keep in mind some Canvas pages require you to use the green submit button, located on the top right side of the page.

If you have an Android:

1. Find the “Drive” app on your phone. It should be pre-installed, but in order to find it quickly, you can swipe up on your phone screen and type “drive” into the search bar. The icon looks like the image below:

2. Tap on the “+ New” button, which is located in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen.

3. Next, tap on the “Scan” button, and use your phone’s camera to scan your document.

When you’re finished scanning, tap on done.

5. If you need to scan another page to the file, tap the plus (+) button. When you are finished, tap the check mark button.

6. Name your file, select pdf or jpeg, select a location and select save on the top right of the screen.

7. Look for a three-dot icon next to the desired file. If you don’t see the file, go to “Search in Drive” at the top of the screen and type the name you gave the file from step 6, then select the file. Tap on it and scroll through the menu to select “Send a copy.”

8. Using the 3 dots at the top of the page, choose the option to send the file to your email account.

9. Open your email account on your computer and save a copy of the scan to your computer.

Your document is now available to upload into Canvas. Keep in mind some Canvas pages require you to use the green submit button, located on the top right side of the page.
